Recent Moves:

-Dropped Chris Ianetta (C - LAA) for Russell Martin (C - PIT)
I've been playing a game of musical chairs with my 2nd catcher, but I was able to land Martin right before he went on his recent hot streak, so I think I'll stick with him for the time being. His bat may not be what it once was, but he's got some pop and may even steal a base or two, which, coming from the 2nd catcher spot, is a luxury.

-Dropped Dan Straily (SP - OAK) for Rajai Davis (OF - TOR)
I like Straily, and think he'll bounce back just fine from his lackluster outing against the Angels, but I no longer need pitching as badly as I once did (thanks to the trade that landed me David Price & Jeff Samardzija), but I am in need of extra OF help, and preferably, a speedster who can rack up stolen bases. My league uses weekly rosters, and I was hoping to activate Michael Bourn (OF - CLE), but he hasn't been cleared to play yet. So, Davis is about as good as it gets in terms of a replacement. Even if he doesn't play everyday, he should be good for anywhere from 30 - 40+ SBs, and that's a valuable commodity in a roto league.

-Dropped Wandy Rodriguez (SP - PIT) for Yuniesky Betancourt (2B - MIL)
Same deal as above. I no longer need fringe pitching, like Wandy, and had to pick up a bat to replace Giancarlo Stanton (OF - MIA), now that he could miss up to a month on the DL. Granted, I'm by no means a "believer" in Betancourt. I've watched this guy play for a long time now and know full well what I'm getting. But, with that being said, that doesn't change the fact that he's one of the hottest hitters in baseball right now who is also incredibly versatile. On CBS, he's eligible at every infield position save catcher & shortstop. So, even though I have him plugged it at UT at the moment, he could always serve as a replacement middle or corner infielder if one of my regulars goes down. Of course, I don't expect him to be starting once Cory Hart (1B - MIL) returns from the DL at the end of May, but you never know what will happen. So, I'll ride the hot hand for now.

-Dropped Travis Wood (SP - CHC) for Kevin Gregg (RP - CHC)
I'm really not sure what to make out of the Cubs closing situation, but Gregg has looked pretty good so far, and actually has quite a bit of experience in the role, so, I figured I'd take a chance. Saves are always valuable in roto leagues, and since I'm only rostering 2 low-end closers in Brandon League (RP - LAD) and Edward Mujica (RP - STL), I could use the insurance policy. Plus, I've been playing fantasy baseball for a while now, and over the years it seems like guys like Gregg (and League & Mujica for that matter) end up with the job by default, and then somehow manage to hold on to it. It happens more often than you'd think. And that's just one of the many reasons I don't overpay for closers. Because, as I write this, I have the 4th most saves in my league -- which is more than guys who spent high draft picks on guys like Aroldis Chapman (RP - CIN), Joe Nathan (RP - TEX), Sergio Romo (RP - SF) and Addison Reed (RP - CWS). And all I did was scrape the bottom of the barrel to cobble together a patchwork of mediocrity.
