Just when I thought I had my roster set for the upcoming week, Dan Straily (SP - OAK) goes out and screws it all up. So, I made a couple minor tweaks. Admittedly, I need pitching far more than hitting, but I just can't find any value there in the free agent pool. I've toyed with the idea of adding Andy Pettitte (SP - NYY), Jonathon Niese (SP - NYM) and Wandy Rodriguez (SP - PIT), but they just don't do anything for me. So, I'm thinking my best option is already on my roster -- Johnny Cueto (SP - CIN). Once he returns from the DL, that should solve a lot of my pitching problems (fingers crossed).
However, I did find a couple good value bats that I can either trade, or stash away in case of injury.

-I added Oswaldo Arcia (OF - MIN) and dropped Marcell Ozuna (OF - MIA)
As much as I talked up Ozuna, I was pretty quick to drop him, in hindsight. But that's not a knock on Ozuna. I still think he'll post big numbers... just not as big as Arcia. And, for as much hype as Ozuna has garnered, Arcia seems to be flying under the radar. Yet, he's the better prospect and is even hotter than Ozuna right now. And granted, I'd prefer to have both of them on my roster, but I just couldn't cut Juan Pierre (OF - MIA), given my need for stolen bases. Which is funny. Because that's one of those "only in fantasy" kind of moves. In real life, you'd have to be nuts to keep Pierre over Ozuna, but in real life, teams don't get extra points for stolen bases.

Admittedly, I held on to Straily longer than I should've, against my better judgement, all because I spent a #1 waiver claim on him. Oops. I was willing to stick with him, and give him a chance to get in the groove, but after yesterday's shelling against the Mariners, I simply lost patience. And with Moustakas hitting like he is, I simply couldn't let him languish in the free agent pool any longer, especially with rumblings coming out of New York that David Wright (3B - NYM) might be injured (he's probably not, but it never hurts to have a backup like Moustakas, in any case). To clarify, I really liked Moustakas coming into this season, and was surprised by his slow start to the season. But now that he's finally starting to come around (he's hit 3 HRs in his last 3 games), he's the perfect buy low candidate (or, should I say, WAS the perfect buy-low candidate, because that ship has probably sailed now). I see him posting similar numbers to Adam LaRoche (1B - WSH) by season's end (.260 - .270 AVG, 25 - 35 HRs, and 80 - 100 RBIs), which, coming from a 3B, is pretty valuable. And to get a guy like that out of the free agent pool is insane. Because, my league is pretty deep. So, my rival owners must've forgotten about him, or something, because he should've been on someone's roster already.
